The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Sunday that its air defense systems shot down two HIMARS projectiles fire by Ukraine and 274 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the past 24 hours.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces destroyed Ukrainian military airport infrastructure, air-defense missile system positions, drone storage and launch points, and temporary bases for Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries in 139 areas, the report said.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Sunday that Ukrainian troops engaged in 138 combats with Russian soldiers and repelled Russian attacks in several directions on Saturday, noting that Ukrainian aviation, missile forces and artillery hit nine concentration areas of Russian personnel, weapons, and military equipment, two command posts, and one radar station. Ukrainian troops also intercepted one Russian cruise missile and 178 Russian drones on Saturday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday appointed Lieutenant General Anatolii Kryvonozhko as commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Kryvonozhko had been serving as the Ukrainian Air Force's acting head since the end of last August.

China on Friday sent a sea-launched rocket from the waters near the eastern province of Shandong, placing a group of satellites into planned orbit.

The commercial rocket, CERES-1 Y7, blasted off at 04:10 (Beijing Time), carrying the satellites belonging to the Tianqi constellation. The Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center conducted this offshore mission.
