A vibrant night market in Dongguan, south China's Guangdong Province, has sprung up right next to the city's basketball stadium, blending sports fun with culinary flavors from different parts of the country.
Located just 100 meters from the Dongguan Basketball Center, the "Basketball Night Market" covers 9,000 square meters. A massive basketball-themed canopy marks the entrance, drawing in both locals and tourists.
The night market features 122 stalls, divided into two sections: one dedicated to basketball-related merchandise, and the other to snacks.
Vendors say the market is clean, well-organized, and bustling with visitors, especially on game nights. From sizzling barbecue and grilled oysters to wood-fired chicken and spicy beef, the variety of flavors is a hit with food lovers.
"[The food here] is special, really good! [This night market] has lots of food, and it's super convenient [for us]," said a visitor.
"Watching basketball wouldn't be complete without good food. Here at the night market you can't miss local specialties like roast goose and lychee wood-roasted chicken -- true Dongguan flavors," said night market manager Jiang Huahai.
