The Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 61,020, with 150,671 others injured since the conflict between Hamas and Israel erupted on October 7, 2023, Gaza's health authorities said in a statement on Tuesday.
Palestinian medical sources said that Israeli attacks have claimed 31 lives since the early hours of Tuesday.
Local media in Gaza reported that the Israeli army had launched strikes against people transporting aid supplies in the northern Gaza Strip, killing six and seriously injuring many others.
Further Israeli airstrikes in the northwest of Gaza City killed five and injured many more, while attacks on the area east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip killed one person. Israeli troops also struck the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah.
The Gaza-based health authorities said on Tuesday that the region's hospitals recorded eight deaths from hunger and malnutrition in the past 24 hours, including one child and seven adults, bringing the total number of fatalities due to malnutrition to 188, including 94 children.
