The World Health Organization (WHO) stated on Thursday that about 12,000 children under five in the Gaza Strip were confirmed to suffer from acute malnutrition in July, the highest monthly figure on record.
Additionally, 99 people in the Gaza Strip have died from malnutrition so far this year, including 29 children under the age of 5, and the statistics may be lower than the actual death toll, according to the WHO.
The WHO called for an immediate end to the blockade on the Gaza Strip and urged the provision of humanitarian assistance, including food and medical supplies, through all possible means in accordance with the international humanitarian law.
