Electric fans produced in south China’s industrial powerhouse of Guangdong Province are hot-selling overseas, as the producers are winning international markets through innovation.

In a mini fan production workshop in Shantou City of the province, every step, from injection molding to precision assembly, is meticulously linked. The workshop produces a wide range of fans, from handheld ones to desktop ones. There is also a new type designed with cooling functions, to meet the diverse needs of different groups.

"This product mainly highlights the cooling functions. Compared with previous versions, it meets the user's need for rapid cooling. The monthly sales volume is about 500,000 units. Its maximum battery service time can reach about 10 hours per charge," said Jiang Yu, design director of the fan workshop.

According to statistics, the cooling home appliances such as air conditioners, electric fans, and neck-mounted fans produced in Shantou this year are mainly exported to Europe, America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and other places.

At a fan manufacturer in Shenzhen City of the province, workers are rushing to fulfill an order for energy-storage fan motors worth over two million yuan (over 278,500 U.S. dollars). The company's products have already entered Africa, Southeast Asia, the United States, and South America, with Benin and Cameroon newly added this year.

"Africa is lack of electricity, but solar energy is widely available there, our products have built-in batteries that can be charged with solar energy. This year, our exports have doubled," said Zhao Xiping, manager of the company.

A portable fan company in Shenzhen’s Longgang District upgraded the motor design of the portable fun, increasing the motor speed to 20,000 revolutions per minute. After the upgrade, the fans are capable of generating wind force three times that of ordinary ones, and are popular in the international market.

"Monthly sales of a single product have now exceeded 200,000 units. To maintain market competitiveness, the company also focuses on promoting the registration and authorized use of patents and exterior designs in different countries and regions. Leveraging these advantages, we continue to lead the overseas market," said Lin Qiongna, manager of the company.

According to statistics, in the first seven months of this year, the total value of Shenzhen's electric fan exports exceeded six billion yuan (835 million U.S. dollars), with its serial fan products exported to countries and regions such as Africa, Southeast Asia, North and South Americas.

The "soft landing" of the China-EU electric vehicle case will greatly boost market confidence and inject new momentum into China-EU cooperation in automobile trade and investment, a spokeswoman of the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said at a press briefing in Beijing on Thursday.

He Yongqian, the spokeswoman, made the remarks after China and the European Union (EU) agreed on the necessity of providing general guidance on price undertakings for Chinese companies exporting battery electric vehicle (BEV) passenger cars to the EU.

"China and the EU simultaneously announced on Monday that they had achieved positive outcomes following multiple rounds of consultations on the EV case, a development that has drawn wide attention at home and abroad. Industry players from both sides have 'highly welcomed and fully endorsed' the outcome, saying the 'soft landing' of the case is expected to greatly boost market confidence and inject new momentum into China-EU cooperation in automobile trade and investment. Some EU politicians have described it as a positive step toward building a sustainable China-EU trade relationship, and said it demonstrated that resolving trade differences through partnership remains feasible," she said.

"Against the current international backdrop, China and the EU, acting in a spirit of mutual respect and within the framework of WTO rules, have properly addressed the EV case, which is of significant positive importance. The outcome will not only contribute to the sound development of China-EU economic and trade ties and help safeguard the stability of the global automotive industrial and supply chains, but will also send a clear and strong signal that both sides are willing to uphold a rules-based international trading order, setting a good example for countries to resolve differences through dialogue and consultation and injecting greater certainty and positive energy into global economic growth," she said.

"China appreciates the spirit of dialogue showed by the EU side and stands ready to work with the EU, building on the current positive outcomes, to further implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two sides, maintain dialogue and communication, and support stable industrial and supply chains on both sides, continue to deepen cooperation on the basis of market principles, and make active contributions to the global green transition," she added.
