Electric fans produced in south China’s industrial powerhouse of Guangdong Province are hot-selling overseas, as the producers are winning international markets through innovation.
In a mini fan production workshop in Shantou City of the province, every step, from injection molding to precision assembly, is meticulously linked. The workshop produces a wide range of fans, from handheld ones to desktop ones. There is also a new type designed with cooling functions, to meet the diverse needs of different groups.
"This product mainly highlights the cooling functions. Compared with previous versions, it meets the user's need for rapid cooling. The monthly sales volume is about 500,000 units. Its maximum battery service time can reach about 10 hours per charge," said Jiang Yu, design director of the fan workshop.
According to statistics, the cooling home appliances such as air conditioners, electric fans, and neck-mounted fans produced in Shantou this year are mainly exported to Europe, America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and other places.
At a fan manufacturer in Shenzhen City of the province, workers are rushing to fulfill an order for energy-storage fan motors worth over two million yuan (over 278,500 U.S. dollars). The company's products have already entered Africa, Southeast Asia, the United States, and South America, with Benin and Cameroon newly added this year.
"Africa is lack of electricity, but solar energy is widely available there, our products have built-in batteries that can be charged with solar energy. This year, our exports have doubled," said Zhao Xiping, manager of the company.
A portable fan company in Shenzhen’s Longgang District upgraded the motor design of the portable fun, increasing the motor speed to 20,000 revolutions per minute. After the upgrade, the fans are capable of generating wind force three times that of ordinary ones, and are popular in the international market.
"Monthly sales of a single product have now exceeded 200,000 units. To maintain market competitiveness, the company also focuses on promoting the registration and authorized use of patents and exterior designs in different countries and regions. Leveraging these advantages, we continue to lead the overseas market," said Lin Qiongna, manager of the company.
According to statistics, in the first seven months of this year, the total value of Shenzhen's electric fan exports exceeded six billion yuan (835 million U.S. dollars), with its serial fan products exported to countries and regions such as Africa, Southeast Asia, North and South Americas.
