The U.S. dollar climbed in late trading on Monday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, added 0.32 percent to 98.167 at 15:00. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.166 dollars from 1.1703 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound slipped to 1.3505 dollars from 1.3554 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar rose to 147.86 Japanese yen from 147.21 Japanese yen in the previous session. The U.S. dollar gained to 0.8076 Swiss francs from 0.8062 Swiss francs, and was down to 1.3812 Canadian dollars from 1.3813 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar climbed to 9.5622 Swedish kronor from 9.5524 Swedish kronor.
