All the equipment and weapons to be displayed during the upcoming parade in Beijing's Tian'anmen Square will be homegrown main battle equipment in active service, Wu Zeke, deputy director of the Leading Group Office of Military Parade, said at a press conference on Wednesday.
The parade scheduled on Sept 3 is part of the events marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
The press conference outlined preparations for the upcoming event and briefed the media on some details of the highly-anticipated event.
"All of the equipment and weapons to be displayed during the parade are domestically produced main battle equipment that are in active service. It will be a showcase of the new-generation weapons and equipment of the Chinese military following the National Day parade in 2019," said Wu, also a senior officer of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission.
He listed three features of the armaments.
"First, the fourth generation of equipment serves as backbone, including new-type tanks, ship-borne aircraft and fighter jets. Organized according to combat modules, these formations highlight the Chinese military's systems-based operational capabilities," Wu said.
"Second, land, sea and air unmanned intelligent and counter-unmanned equipment, as well as cyber-electronic combat forces, such as new-type drones, directed-energy weapons and electronic jamming systems, will also be displayed, demonstrating our new combat forces in new domains," he said.
"In addition, the parade will feature advanced equipment such as hypersonic and air defense anti-missile equipment and strategic missiles -- which will demonstrate China's powerful strategic deterrence capability," Wu said.
"With a high level of informatization and intelligence, the weapons and equipment to be displayed will fully demonstrate the strong capability of the Chinese armed forces to adapt to sci-tech development and the evolution of war forms, and to win future wars," he said.
