China has held multiple press briefings on its efforts to promote cooperation among Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member countries and to prepare for this year's summit in the northern Chinese port city of Tianjin, where the SCO Summit 2025 will take place from August 31 to September 1.

In a briefing at the media center for the upcoming SCO Summit 2025 on Friday, officials from Tianjin said that the host city has leveraged its advantage as a port hub to built 20 pairs of sister relationships with cities from across SCO countries and established 10 Luban Workshops in SCO countries to provide vocational skills training.

They noted that Tianjin-produced new energy vehicles have already been put into use across SCO countries.

Looking forward, Tianjin will take the summit as an opportunity to further deepen practical cooperation with SCO countries in areas such as economy, trade, culture and green industries, said the officials.

In another briefing on the same day, officials from east China's Shandong Province said that Qingdao City-based China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area (SCODA) has opened over 40 shipping routes and 220 air routes to SCO countries.

They said that the China-Europe freight train service from the SCODA has reached cities across SCO countries, becoming a vivid example of building an SCO community with a shared future.

In a briefing on Thursday, officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) said that digital technology talent training is a key component of SCO digital economy cooperation.

They noted that to date, the China-SCO Big Data Cooperation Center has trained over 830 digital technology professionals for SCO countries, and it is expected that the three-year training target of 1,000 people will be achieved ahead of schedule.

Press briefings on SCO cooperation in the fields of people to people and cultural exchanges, ecology, agriculture and other fields will also be held at the media center in the following days.

The SCO Summit 2025 will be the largest gathering in the organization's history, with more than 20 foreign leaders and 10 heads of international organizations expected to attend.
