Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Cai Qi on Saturday met with Prime Minister of Egypt Mostafa Madbouly, who is in China to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2025 in the port city of Tianjin.

Cai, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, said that the consensus, reached by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on deepening bilateral ties and advancing cooperation across various sectors during their meeting last year, lays out a blueprint for the development of bilateral relations under the new circumstances.

Noting that China and Egypt will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations next year, Cai said that China is ready to work with Egypt to continuously implement the consensus, firmly support each other, promote greater progress in bilateral cooperation in various areas, and advance bilateral ties toward the goal of building a China-Egypt community with a shared future in the new era.

Madbouly said that Egypt is firmly committed to the one-China principle and supports the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by President Xi.

Egypt is willing to learn from China's development experience, deepen pragmatic cooperation between the two countries, and elevate the Egypt-China comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights, said Madbouly.

The two-day SCO Summit 2025 will open on Sunday.
