CMG's NEV challenge launched in Chongqing

China Media Group (CMG) on Friday launched the "Champion vs. Champion - CMG China New Energy Vehicle Challenge" at the opening ceremony of the World Smart Industry Expo 2025 in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.

Blending sports, technology, and culture-tourism, the competition takes China's magnificent landscapes as its racecourse. The event invites Olympic and world champions to drive new energy vehicles (NEVs) from Chongqing across Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Qinghai, competing in four major divisions.

The challenge will demonstrate capabilities of China's NEVs in complex road conditions and extreme environments.

Hong Kong's stock market declined on Friday with the benchmark Hang Seng Index down 0.29 percent to close at 26,844.96 points.

The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index lost 0.50 percent to end at 9,220.81 points, and the Hang Seng Tech Index edged down 0.11 percent to 5,822.18 points.
