Polish President Karol Nawrocki has signed an agreement allowing North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) troops to be stationed in the country as part of the Eastern Sentry operation, Poland's National Security Bureau (BBN) announced on Sunday.

The specific arrangements and details of the deployment decision are confidential and will not be disclosed.

These actions come a day after Polish authorities said 19 Russian drones entered the country's airspace.

The Russian Defense Ministry said its drones had struck military facilities in western Ukraine, but there were no plans to target sites in Poland.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced last Friday that NATO is launching operation Eastern Sentry to reinforce the alliance's deterrence and defense posture on the eastern flank.
