The cargo hold display of the Y-20A large-capacity military transport aircraft and the mid-air demonstration of the YY-20A aerial tanker have wowed visitors at the Changchun Air Show in northeast China's Jilin Province, showcasing the strength of China's strategic air force.
The event runs from Friday to Tuesday, which comprehensively showcases the history and modernization of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force through aerobatic performances, equipment exhibitions, and various interactive activities.
On the third day of the air show, the Y-20A, China's domestically developed large transport aircraft, opened its cargo hold and members of the public are allowed to take a peek at the inside of the huge plane.
"I'm very much surprised, because I didn't expect that members of the general public can go inside the Y-20 and take a look. The two kids are also really happy. They knew the Y-20 large aircraft when they watched the grand parade on TV. So, today when we arrived here, they had been asking us to take them to see the large aircraft all the time," said a visitor.
"I'm very excited, as the Y-20 is quite magnificent. I feel that the development of China's transport aircraft and fighter jets is extremely fast," said another visitor.
In aerobatic flight, the pre-refueling formation of the YY-20A tanker and J-16 fighters also catches people's eyes.
"The YY-20 is adapted on the basis of Y-20A. Its maneuver and cockpit equipment have been significantly improved. Meanwhile, the precision of its equipment is also benchmarking with advanced large transport aircraft manufactured by foreign countries," said Qiao Shihao, a pilot.
