Fatal traffic accident in Kwun Tong

Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident happened in Kwun Tong today (April 21), in which a woman died.

Police received a report at about 8.51am that a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 36-year-old man was travelling along Cha Kwo Ling Road towards Yau Tong. When approaching MTR Yau Tong station, it reportedly knocked down a 30-year-old mainland woman who was crossing the road.

Sustaining serious head and limbs injuries, the woman was rushed to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 10.02am.

The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.

Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East is under way.
