The third round of talks between Russia and the United States on eliminating irritants in bilateral ties will definitely be held before the end of autumn, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Wednesday.
No specific date has been set yet, and all details are still under discussion, he said while speaking to the press.
The previous two rounds of negotiations took place on February 27 and April 10 in Istanbul, Türkiye, focusing on restoring the functionality of the Russian and U.S. embassies and addressing various bilateral concerns.
On the same day, Ryabkov also noted that Moscow is waiting for a response from U.S. President Donald Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin's proposals regarding the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START), adding that Russia will ensure its own security if Washington triggers a new arms race.
Putin said on Sept. 22 that Russia will be ready to maintain the central limits under the New START Treaty for another year after it expires in February, provided the United States makes a reciprocal move.
