China's express delivery services are extending beyond households to factory floors, as smart logistics solutions become a key driver in enhancing manufacturing efficiency and precision delivery.
From automotive components to electronics and agricultural products, innovative logistics models are increasingly embedded across industrial chains, helping reshape the nation's manufacturing landscape.
In a car parts distribution center in Xi'an, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, an automated warehouse is operating at full capacity, where shuttles, lifts and robots work in seamless coordination.
Faced with the challenge of delivering over 7,000 types of vehicle components, and more than 7 million items each day, automakers and logistics companies have jointly developed the first smart warehouse solution of its kind in the country.
The system automatically schedules shuttles, elevators and robots based on production line demands, achieving 100 percent accuracy in shelving, inventory management, batch tracking and picking. This has greatly improved operational efficiency.
"With the automated warehouse in use, labor costs have been cut by about 20 percent and warehouse space reduced by 30 percent," said Ma Xiaolong, logistics manager of the automobile manufacturer.
From automobile plants to electronics parks, from small appliance clusters to agricultural production bases, express delivery services are now deeply integrated into both upstream and downstream links of industrial supply chains, becoming a vital force in boosting logistics efficiency.
China has so far developed 1,670 major logistics projects serving advanced manufacturing industries, each generating over one million yuan (around 140,500 U.S. dollars) in annual revenue.
"The postal and express delivery sector has strong connectivity and integration capacity. By building a nationwide and globally connected network, it helps deepen industrial cooperation, enhance circulation efficiency, and continuously reduce logistics costs," said Liu Jiang, director of the strategic planning department at the Development and Research Center of State Post Bureau.

Industry players from both sides have 'highly welcomed and fully endorsed' the outcome, saying the 'soft landing' of the case is expected to greatly boost market confidence and inject new momentum into China-EU cooperation in automobile trade and investment. Some EU politicians have described it as a positive step toward building a sustainable China-EU trade relationship, and said it demonstrated that resolving trade differences through partnership remains feasible," she said.
"Against the current international backdrop, China and the EU, acting in a spirit of mutual respect and within the framework of WTO rules, have properly addressed the EV case, which is of significant positive importance. The outcome will not only contribute to the sound development of China-EU economic and trade ties and help safeguard the stability of the global automotive industrial and supply chains, but will also send a clear and strong signal that both sides are willing to uphold a rules-based international trading order, setting a good example for countries to resolve differences through dialogue and consultation and injecting greater certainty and positive energy into global economic growth," she said.
"China appreciates the spirit of dialogue showed by the EU side and stands ready to work with the EU, building on the current positive outcomes, to further implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two sides, maintain dialogue and communication, and support stable industrial and supply chains on both sides, continue to deepen cooperation on the basis of market principles, and make active contributions to the global green transition," she added.
