China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, rolled out its first-ever matchmaking event for the entry of export products into the domestic market, helping exporters directly access China's domestic market.
This edition of the Canton Fair set aside about 3,000 square meters for the matchmaking event, and slotted a centralized matchmaking event into every phase of the fair.
The matchmaking event for the entry of export products into the domestic market is poised to become a key platform for boosting domestic demand, promoting industrial upgrading, and connecting domestic and international markets. This will give the Chinese economy both stronger internal engines and a sharper global edge.
The first matchmaking event brought together 80 domestic buyers and high-quality foreign trade companies.
The buyers included large platforms and leading enterprises, reflecting their enthusiastic participation. Foreign trade companies also took this opportunity to precisely connect with the domestic market and integrate into China's new "dual circulation" development plan.
The Canton Fair is China's longest-running, largest, most comprehensive, and most widely attended international trade event. The 138th edition of the fair opened in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province, on Wednesday.
The fair is divided into three phases, with each phase lasting for five days. The first phase, running from Oct 15 to 19, focuses on advanced manufacturing, including electronic appliances and industrial equipment.
A total of 74,600 booths are arranged for some 32,000 participating companies at this edition of the Canton Fair. Among them, about 3,600 companies will be making their debut at the fair.
