Some 461 new products, technologies and services will debut at the eighth China International Import Expo (CIIE) , with a focus on low-altitude economy, humanoid robots and other future industries, alongside the latest outcomes from global leading companies in high-tech and green sectors, Vice Commerce Minister Sheng Qiuping said Tuesday.

At a press conference in Beijing, Sheng said the eighth CIIE will be held in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10, with all the preparations nearly done.

Beyond the product debuts, Sheng said the expo will bring together 400 experts from politics, business, and academic cirles to discuss global governance and openness, while releasing 21 outcome documents.

The business exhibition of this year's CIIE will also be further expanded, he said.

"From the 3,496 participating companies of last year, there has been an increase of over 600 companies this year, and 290 of Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders will be present at the expo. Both the exhibition area and the total participating companies have made a record high. Forty-three trade missions have been organized, with over 700 sub-missions participating in on-site negotiations and procurement. The registration of professional visitors has amounted to 449,500," Sheng said.

The 8th CIIE has attracted companies from 123 Belt and Road Initiative partner countries, up 23.1 percent year on year. And 163 companies from the least developed countries are coming, a 23.5 percent increase year on year, while the participation of African companies has surged by 80 percent from the previous year.

China opposes the use or threat of force in international relations, opposes imposing one's own will on others, and opposes a return of the world to the "law of the jungle," Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during a phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Thursday.

During the call, Araghchi briefed Wang on the latest developments in Iran, saying the recent unrest was incited by external forces and that the situation has now returned to stability.

Saying that Iran has made preparations to respond to external interference while keeping the door wide open to dialog, Araghchi expressed hope that China would play a greater role in promoting regional peace and stability.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that China consistently upholds the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and international law, opposes the use or threat of force in international relations, opposes imposing one's own will on others, and opposes a return of the world to the "law of the jungle."

He said that the Chinese side believes the Iranian government and people will stay united, overcome difficulties, maintain national stability, and safeguard their legitimate rights and interests.

Wang also called on all parties to cherish peace, exercise restraint, and resolve differences through dialog, adding that China is willing to play a constructive role in this regard.
