The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy's 83rd taskforce arrived in Singapore on Tuesday, starting a four-day goodwill visit to the Southeast Asian country.

The taskforce, consisting of Chinese PLA Navy's training ship Qi Jiguang and comprehensive landing ship Yimengshan, docked at the Changi Naval Base, receiving a warm welcome by the Republic of Singapore Navy, Chinese Embassy staff in Singapore and local student representatives.

Representatives from various sectors boarded the two vessels for an open-day visit, experiencing firsthand the achievements in the modernization of Chinese naval vessels.

During the two vessels' stay, the two navies will visit each other's ships and hold military exchange activities.
