Two foreign exhibitors, who participated in every past edition of the China International Import Expo (CIIE), are looking forward to this year's eight edition to showcase their latest products and innovations.
Executives of the foreign companies spoke highly of the expo, as through this platform their products will be able to reach a wider international community and have the opportunity to expand their presence in China's vast market.
"We've been delighted to be participants in prior CIIEs. The last seven years have been great. It's an opportunity for us to showcase our platforms and innovations to the broader community including regulators and customers as well as other participants," said Gary Guthart, executive chair of board of directors with Intuitive Surgical, an American biotechnology company.
"This is the eighth time that we're participating in CIIE. We frequently launch new products in CIIE. We're translating this confidence into China market, into really concrete action. This year we finalized the acquisition of our OTC joint venture in China, which is a big strategic milestone for us, and a clear expression of our continued commitment to the China market," said Gijs Sanders, head of strategy for marketing and digital transformation at Haleon, a British multinational consumer healthcare company.
Scheduled to run from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai, the expo will gather 4,108 exhibitors from 138 countries and regions across the world.
Preparations for the expo are currently in full swing, with construction and exhibition setup scheduled for completion by November 3.
The first batch of exhibits already arrived in Shanghai on Oct 23, covering sectors such as agriculture and food, medical equipment, healthcare, technology, and high-end manufacturing, with many of them being global debuts or first-time launches.
