China advocates cooperation with the U.S. leading to win-win outcomes, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Tuesday, in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's latest announcement to permit sales of Nvidia's advanced artificial intelligence (AI) chips to "approved customers" in China.

Trump said on Monday that the United States will allow Nvidia to ship its H200 AI chips to "approved customers" in China and elsewhere, on the condition that 25 percent of the chip sales will be paid to the U.S. government.

The H200 is one of Nvidia's high-grade chip, but not the company's top-of-the-line product.

"We've noticed the relevant reports. China always advocates that China and the U.S. should achieve win-win outcomes through cooperation," said Guo Jiakun, the spokesman, at a regular press briefing in Beijing.
