Chinese shares close lower Thursday

Chinese stocks closed lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.70 percent to 3,873.32 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.27 percent lower at 13,147.39 points.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 1.41 percent to close at 3,163.67 points Thursday.

The ChiNext Index, together with the Shenzhen Component Index and other indices, reflects the performance of stocks listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

Chinese shares close lower Thursday

Hong Kong's stock market ended lower Thursday with the benchmark Hang Seng Index down 0.04 percent to close at 25,530.51 points.

The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index fell 0.23 percent to end at 8,934.28 points, and the Hang Seng Tech Index fell 0.83 percent to end at 5,534.59 points.
