Local authorities have taken active measures to ensure smooth traffic flow after bouts of heavy snowfall swept over northern parts of China on Friday.

During the period spanning from Thursday morning to Friday morning, a total of 62 counties and districts in northwest China's Gansu Province reported snowfall, according to the Gansu Provincial Meteorological Bureau.

To facilitate the smooth movement of vehicles, local traffic management authorities promptly implemented urgent protocols, which included the application of road de-icing substances.

Elsewhere in northern China, a snowfall hit the mountainous areas to the west of Beijing in the early hours of Friday morning and extend to urban districts during the daytime.

Currently, Beijing is under an orange alert for road icing and a blue alert for snowstorm. The transportation department has activated its early warning mechanism and prepared for snow and ice removal on roads.

Meanwhile, widespread snowfall has also fallen in parts of north China's Shanxi Province since Thursday.

The Shanxi Provincial Meteorological Observatory has successively issued yellow alerts for cold waves, snowstorms, and road icing as well as a blue alert for strong winds. On Friday, most regions in Shanxi are still experiencing moderate to heavy snowfall.

Affected by the snowfall, many toll stations on highways in Shanxi have implemented traffic control measures, restricting vehicles from entering the highways, local expressway traffic police department reported. Additionally, following the occurrence of snowfall, the road management department there has also been spreading de-icing agents on the roads and carrying out snow removal operations.

The urban management and sanitation departments in Shanxi also use both manual and mechanical snow removal methods, prioritizing the removal of snow and ice from roadways, airports, train stations, schools, and medical facilities. Now, the urban management department in Taiyuan, the capital city of the province, has deployed around 17,000 personnel and hired over 1,500 diverse snow removing equipment to ensure the smooth flow of traffic on the roads.

The British government can no longer conceal the fact that British soldiers are involved in war against Russia, with at least 100 British nationals currently fighting Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday.

Many Western warmongers fantasize about deploying their troops to Ukraine under the guise of "peacekeepers," but for Russia, these so-called "peacekeepers" should become legitimate military targets, Lavrov said.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on the same day that Britain has publicly confirmed the death of its serviceman in Ukraine, but contrary to British media reports, it was not the first death of a British soldier in Ukraine.

A member of the British armed forces died in a tragic accident in Ukraine on Tuesday morning while observing the testing of a new defensive capability, Britain's Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

The Times reported that British special forces are currently conducting covert operations in Ukraine, including assisting in training Ukrainian military personnel to use specific equipment. Additionally, a small number of medical personnel have been deployed to Ukraine, while other personnel provide security for British diplomatic missions in the country.
