HKTE organises 12 career fairs this year to connect employers with talent

Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) today (December 18) held a job-seeking themed seminar to help incoming talent gain insights into salary trends and understand keys aspects of recruitment and selection criteria. HKTE has held 16 themed seminars this year covering job-seeking, employment and entrepreneurship, as well as co-organised 12 online and physical career fairs with industry partners to help incoming talent secure employment and settle in Hong Kong.

The 12 career fairs focused on Hong Kong's key development areas, including innovation and technology (I&T), finance, maritime and trade. Attracting over 200 000 participants, the fairs effectively facilitated career matching between outside talent and local employers, assisting them in developing their careers in Hong Kong smoothly.

Among them, four were online career fairs, allowing global talent to engage directly with local enterprises without geographical or time-zone constraints, understand Hong Kong's job market, explore development opportunities in Hong Kong and strengthen their confidence in pursuing development in Hong Kong. The four online fairs received over 16 600 curriculum vitaes in total, and over 21 000 dialogue sessions were recorded during direct exchanges between employers and job-seeking candidates. Participating talent mainly came from the Chinese Mainland, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, the United States, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia. Participating enterprises and talent affirmed the effectiveness of the fairs and expressed their intention to continue participating.

The Director of HKTE, Mr Felix Chan, said that HKTE will continue to organise career fairs, themed seminars, workshops and integration programmes next year to support incoming talent. The office will also organise the Global Talent Summit Week in March next year to foster global talent exchanges, with a view to proactively building Hong Kong into an international hub for high-calibre talent.
