The central parity rate of the Chinese currency renminbi, or the yuan, weakened 22 pips to 7.0572 against the U.S. dollar Monday, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System.
In China's spot foreign exchange market, the yuan is allowed to rise or fall by 2 percent from the central parity rate each trading day.
The central parity rate of the yuan against the U.S. dollar is based on a weighted average of prices offered by market makers before the opening of the interbank market each business day.

China has treated over 340,000 square km of land affected by water and soil erosion during the 14th five-year plan period (2021-2025), according to the Ministry of Water Resources.
The national efforts have rehabilitated about 116,000 square km of eroded lands, raising the national soil-water conservation rate to over 73 percent, the ministry said.
Soil-water conservation rate refers to the proportion of areas with good soil-water conditions to the total land area of a country. The latest figure reflects improved management of soil and water resources nationwide, marking a more harmonious co-existence between man and Nature.
