Over 200 households affected by landslide in Jinping Village of Junlian County, southwest China's Sichuan Province, gathered to select their new homes on Monday, with all families expected to relocate before the upcoming Spring Festival.

The landslide, which struck on Feb 8, damaged the homes of more than 200 families. In response, local authorities launched a reconstruction effort. After more than six months of intensive work, the resettlement community has now been fully completed, paving the way for residents to begin a new life.

"I feel so touched. The government has built these houses for us, and we can celebrate the Spring Festival here. The greening work here is well done, the air is fresh, and the local terrain is favorable," said Zhou Xiaobin, a local resident.

"We've been waiting day and night for this moment. Now it's finally here, and life will get better and better," said another villager Li Hualin. Local authorities have also been helping affected residents in finding employment and increasing income.

Through measures such as offering vocational training, the local authorities have helped more than 500 people secure stable jobs.

"We've also developed a supporting micro industrial park. By introducing projects such as agricultural product processing, garment making and rural e-commerce, we aim to ensure that affected residents can not only settle down comfortably, but also find sustainable livelihoods," said Yuan Yusheng, deputy head of Junlian County.
