The head of LG Energy Solution China on Tuesday reaffirmed the importance of the Chinese market, describing it as the "largest and most dynamic" environment globally for the new energy sector.
During President of Republic of Korea (ROK) Lee Jae Myung's state visit to China from Sunday to Wednesday, the two countries signed 15 cooperation agreements in fields including scientific and technological innovation, ecological environment, transportation, and economic and trade cooperation, boosting confidence in future collaboration between ROK and Chinese businesses.
In 2025, LG Energy Solution, the world's third-largest electric vehicle battery manufacturer based in the ROK, established its China headquarters in Nanjing City, east China's Jiangsu Province. The company has employed nearly 10,000 people and invested close to 10 billion U.S. dollars in the city.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with China Global Television Network (CGTN) in Nanjing, Choi Ji Woong, president of the LG Energy Solution China, emphasized that China has offered unique advantages for the electric vehicle battery giant.
"I believe the Chinese market is the largest and most dynamic market in the world, especially from the perspective of new energy. In particular, I think there is comprehensive industrial infrastructure and a complete value chain here. We view the Chinese market not just as a market, but as a venue to verify our products and technologies, and for further expansion and development. Here, there are many partners we can collaborate with, which is why we believe the Chinese market itself is very important," said Lee.
