The world premiere of "Horse Power", China's first giant-screen film themed on Chinese zodiac animals, was held at the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum on Friday, marking a unique blend of cultural heritage and advanced cinematic technology.

Jointly produced by China Media Group (CMG) and the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, the film utilizes high-definition dynamic photography to capture high-speed motion and rare moments in vivid details, telling distinctive stories of horses from different countries.

"The wonderful thing about this film is it builds a bridge between China and the rest of the world, and it's a celebration of those kind of cultural amazing moments that we can showcase to the whole world," said Mark Brownlow, the film's chief director.

The premiere took place at the newly upgraded CINITY science giant screen theater at the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, which is also the world's first science museum cinema to adopt an LED film screen system. Integrating 4K, 3D, high brightness and high frame rate technologies, along with a new-generation CLED acoustically transparent screen, the system delivers sharper and more immersive visual details.

"With new technologies and new forms of expression, we hope this film can convey the spirit of the Chinese people and reflect world cultures," said Ni Minjing, director of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum.

At the premiere, representatives from the Hong Kong Jockey Club, the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum and the film's production team jointly launched a "Horse Power" public welfare donation program. Under this initiative, the film's 4D version will be screened for free at science venues in central and western China over the next three years, enabling local audiences to share high-quality science and cultural resources without long-distance travel.

Multiple versions of the film, including giant-screen, dome-screen and 4D formats, are scheduled to be screened simultaneously at the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, the Shanghai Natural History Museum and the Shanghai Astronomy Museum during the upcoming winter vacation. In addition, the film is set for an American premiere at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History in Texas and will be screened at more than 200 science venues worldwide.
