China's electromechanical products account for over 60 percent of total exports for the first time in 2025, signaling the country's foreign trade resilience against global headwinds, He Yongqian, spokeswoman of the Ministry of Commerce, said at a press conference in Beijing on Thursday.
She pointed out that China's foreign trade development continued to contribute for global economic and trade development.
"China's foreign trade grew amid challenges in 2025, showing its resilience and vitality and making significant contributions to global economic and trade development. Innovation momentum is continuously strengthening, with exports of electromechanical products growing by nine percent and accounting for over 60 percent of total exports for the first time. The international competitiveness of green and low-carbon products significantly improved, and new business models such as cross-border e-commerce emerged with vitality," she said.
China's foreign trade expanded 3.8 percent year on year in yuan terms in 2025, according to official data released on Wednesday.
In 2025, the country's foreign trade reached 45.47 trillion yuan (about 6.48 trillion U.S. dollars), according to the General Administration of Customs.
China's foreign trade has maintained growth for the ninth consecutive year since 2017, the administration said.
Exports grew 6.1 percent year on year to 26.99 trillion yuan in 2025, while imports edged up 0.5 percent from one year earlier to 18.48 trillion yuan, the data showed.
