The Advisory Council of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) held a video conference on Tuesday, where a research report titled "The Belt and Road Initiative: High-Quality International Economic Cooperation" was released.

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu, who is the convener of the Advisory Council, addressed the meeting.

He said that the Belt and Road Initiative is an international public good that originates from China and belongs to the world, and a practical platform for building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Against the global changes and challenges to the multilateral system, countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative are committed to enhancing connectivity and common development and engaging in mutually beneficial international cooperation, sending a positive signal of unity, cooperation and win-win outcomes, Ma said.

Ma added that China will continue to deepen partnerships with all parties, so that the Belt and Road Initiative can contribute more to the stable growth of the world economy and sound development of international economic and trade cooperation.

Members of the Advisory Council highlighted the significant role of the Belt and Road Initiative in promoting global economic growth and advancing sustainable development.

They noted that the initiative has made substantial contributions to enhancing mutual trust among countries and fostering international cooperation.

They recommended that participating parties strengthen collaboration in areas such as connectivity, international trade, artificial intelligence, and digital economy.

Hailing Belt and Road cooperation as having entered a new stage of high-quality development, the report said that Belt and Road cooperation has enhanced trust among countries and served as a stabilizer in a turbulent world.

Established in 2018, the Advisory Council is a non-profit and international policy advisory body, with the main function of offering intellectual support for the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. Members of the council come from all over the world, including former political figures from relevant countries and renowned scholars and business people.

More than 20 films will hit Chinese screens during the three-day Qingming Festival holiday from Saturday to Monday, spanning genres from revolutionary historical dramas, realism movies to suspense thrillers, according to the China Film Administration on Thursday.

Revolutionary historical films such as Blood-Spattered Cliff, Eight Sons, Eight Soldiers, and Half Of The Quilt, will pay tribute to martyrs through the lens.

Three films -- It's OK, Now I Met Her, and Sunshine Women's Choir -- tell moving stories of love, growth, and reconciliation.

It's OK is a contemporary family comedy that follows a mother and daughter navigating their joyful yet turbulent relationship. Now I Met Her tells a rebellious teenager who gets to know his late mother through her old diary. Sunshine Women's Choir, a film from the Taiwan region of China, portrays the "perfect" maternal love of "imperfect mothers."

The suspense film Game of Identity tells the story of two people from different backgrounds who accidentally swap lives, setting off an unexpected adventure. The documentary films Seeking Nature: The Code of Life, and Missions to the Moon (Part One) explore the connection between humanity and science.

Imported films from different countries, including The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2, Project Hail Mary, and Hoppers, will deliver spectacular cinematic experiences to audiences.

The Qingming Festival, or Tomb-Sweeping Day, falls on April 5 this year. It is a traditional Chinese festival for honoring the deceased and paying tribute to ancestors. The holiday also provides a short break for Chinese citizens as they engage in outdoor activities and sightseeing.
