The Bayi Aerobatic Team of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force conducted the first practice flight at Singapore's Changi Airport on Friday, ahead of its flight displays at the upcoming 10th Singapore Airshow.

Six J-10 fighter jets from the team took off in the morning, formed up in the air, and flew to a designated display area over the sea, where they performed aerobatic maneuvers.

Over the display area, the aircraft made a low-level flypast, releasing six trails of red, yellow and white smoke, followed by a sequence of maneuvers, including steep turns, climbing turns, and synchronized rolls. The formation's movements were precise and seamlessly coordinated, demonstrating both the pilots' high level of skill and the aircraft's superior maneuverability.

"Today's training was conducted over the sea, strictly following the procedures, regulations, and designated zones of our official performance. The team performed steadily and coordinated well, achieving the intended training objectives. This marks our return to Singapore after six years, and we believe we will deliver an outstanding visual spectacle for the audience," said Zhang Xiaoguang, a pilot of the Bayi Aerobatic Team.

Tan Andy, one of the staff members organizing the airshow, said, "I want to welcome the Bayi team again to Singapore. The last time the Bayi team came to Singapore was in 2020. And, they did a very good performance. The public -- the crowd -- were very impressed with the Bayi's performance during 2020. And, we're very happy that Bayi team has decided to come back to Singapore Airshow to perform in 2026."

The airshow will be held from February 3 to 8 at the Changi Airport. The Bayi Aerobatic Team has deployed seven J-10 performance aircraft for this event, among which the J-10C jet is making its debut appearance and flight demonstration in Singapore.

According to the organizer, the team will conduct one validation flight in the coming days, followed by three performances. This event will also feature flight demonstration teams from Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, and Indonesia.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Friday that Iran has consistently pursued engagement and dialogue to resolve disputes and is not seeking war.

Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran's "dignity-based diplomacy" during separate phone talks with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan and United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, according to statements on the Iranian president's official website.

He said Iran's approach is based on engagement within the framework of international law, mutual respect, and refraining from threats or coercion. "Any aggression against the country and its people will be responded to immediately and decisively," he added.

Iranian media reported on Friday that Ali Shamkhani, an adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, had warned that any move that indicates hostile intent from an enemy will be met with a "proportionate, effective, and deterrent response."

He said Iran has uncovered is enemies' operational plans, and it will direct strikes "at the appropriate time."

These statements come amid heightened U.S.-Iran tensions as Washington increases military pressure on the Middle East nation, where nationwide unrest has erupted since late December 2025. U.S. President Donald Trump said a "massive armada," led by the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, is heading toward Iran, warning that "time is running out" for Tehran to reach a deal with Washington.

On Friday, Trump said that Iran "wants to make deal," and suggested that the White House has privately communicated a deadline to Iran to reach a deal.

The U.S. has said a deal with Iran must include a ban on uranium enrichment, removal of already-enriched uranium, a cap on long-range missiles, and a rollback of support for regional proxies -- all conditions Tehran has rejected.
