China's aviation giants have seized the spotlight at the 10th Singapore Airshow, unveiling fighter jets, transport aircraft and commercial airliners in a high‑profile showcase that opened Tuesday and runs till February 8.

The Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) is presenting models spanning multiple categories, including fighter jets, trainer aircraft, transport planes, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Among them, the J-35A fighter jet has taken center stage, while other high-profile models such as the J-20 and the J-10CE have also drawn significant attention from visitors.

In addition to military aircraft, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) is displaying its C909 regional jetliner and C919 narrow-body passenger aircraft in static exhibitions.

Previously at the 2024 Singapore Airshow, two C919 aircraft and three ARJ21 jets made their debut appearance.

China's commercial aircraft achievements were presented at the event through a combination of indoor model displays, outdoor static exhibitions and flight demonstrations.

The legitimate rights of the Palestinian people must be respected and protected, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a press briefing in Beijing on Friday.

Mao made the remarks in response to a media query about the reports that the Israeli parliament recently adopted a new law introducing death penalty for Palestinians, and countries such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have expressed strong condemnation, saying such practice is "entrenching a system of apartheid."

"All legislation must conform to legal principles such as the principle of legality, fairness and justice, and must not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, nationality or political view. The legitimate rights of the Palestinian people must be respected and protected. Relevant party’s actions that escalate tensions and exacerbate confrontation must stop," said Mao.
