China's Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin and Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov co-chaired a new round of strategic security consultation between the two countries in Beijing on Tuesday.
During the consultation, the two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on current global strategic stability and multilateral arms control, and reached broad consensus.
Both sides agreed that the current global strategic stability is facing severe challenges.
They agreed that China and Russia, as permanent members of the UN Security Council, would continue to enhance strategic coordination, firmly support multilateralism, actively safeguard the authority and effectiveness of international arms control treaties and mechanisms, and contribute to maintaining global strategic stability and promoting world peace and security.
