Flyers snap losing streak with 4-2 win over Capitals

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Jamie Drysdale scored on the power play to snap a 20-game streak without a goal, Dan Vladar made 26 saves, and the Philadelphia Flyers ended a four-game losing streak by beating the Washington Capitals 4-2 on Tuesday night.

Drysdale one-timed a pass from Trevor Zegras past Washington goalie Clay Stevenson to put the Flyers ahead to stay, 3-2.

Vladar kept the Flyers game, especially in the first period, stopping all 11 shots Washington fired at him in a period that was spent predominantly in the Flyers end.

He stopped a pair of one-timers by Alex Ovechkin from the high slot in the third period to keep the Flyers ahead. Ovechkin was trying to tie Sidney Crosby's record of 29 goals, most by a Philadelphia opponent in the 30-year history of Xfinity Mobile arena.

Owen Tippett gave the Flyers an early lead when he took a cross-ice pass from defenseman Travis Sanheim and made a deft forehand-to-backhand move to slide it past Stevenson, who had 18 saves.

Carl Grundstrom, who was a healthy scratch the previous two games, returned to the lineup and snapped a 13-game scoring drought when his shot caromed of the skate of Washington defenseman Jakob Chychrun to give the Flyers a two-goal lead in the second period.

Travis Konency had a pair of assists, marking his fourth straight multipoint game and his 15th this season.

Rasmus Ristolainen added an empty-net goal for his first of the season for Philadelphia. He also assisted on Grundstrom's goal.

Anthony Beauvillier had a goal and an assist and Aliaksei Protas scored a short-handed goal for Washington, which had its three-game winning streak snapped.

Capitals: Return home to host Nashville on Thursday night.

Flyers: Host Ottawa on Thursday in the final game before the Olympic break.

Kyle Kuzma scores 31 as Bucks snap 5-game skid with 131-115 win over Bulls

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Kyle Kuzma matched a season high with 31 points and the Milwaukee Bucks snapped a five-game skid, beating the Chicago Bulls 131-115 in a meeting of short-handed teams Tuesday night.

Milwaukee was missing its top two scorers due to injury, while the Bulls traded away three players earlier in the day.

The Bulls sent Kevin Huerter and Dario Saric to Detroit as part of a three-team deal in which they acquired Mike Conley Jr. from Minnesota and Jaden Ivey from the Pistons. They also traded Nikola Vucevic and a second-round pick to Boston for Anfernee Simons and a second-round selection.

Chicago was missing leading scorer Josh Giddey due to a strained left hamstring.

Milwaukee was again without two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who strained his right calf on Jan. 23. Antetokounmpo was on the court taking shots and working out before the game.

The Bucks improved to 4-15 without Antetokounmpo.

Milwaukee also didn’t have Kevin Porter Jr. (oblique strain), Bobby Portis (hip bruise) and Gary Harris (left hamstring strain). Bucks coach Doc Rivers said before the game that Porter could return Wednesday or Friday.

Ryan Rollins had 21 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds for Milwaukee. Kuzma had 10 rebounds and six assists.

The Bucks made a season-high 23 3-pointers and shot 60.5% from beyond the arc.

Chicago's Matas Buzelis scored 22 points. Coby White had 21 points and 10 rebounds.

Two nights after scoring their fewest points of the season in a 107-79 loss at Boston, Milwaukee nearly equaled that output by halftime, leading 77-52 at the break. That was the Bucks' highest first-half point total of the season.

Chicago cut Milwaukee’s lead to 90-84 late in the third quarter but couldn't get any closer.

Bulls: Visit Toronto on Thursday.

Bucks: Host New Orleans on Wednesday.
