China's trade with other Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economies reached 26.29 trillion yuan (about 3.79 trillion U.S. dollars) in 2025, accounting for 57.82 percent of the country's total foreign trade volume, showed the latest data released by the General Administration of Customs.
The robust growth was notably driven by China's rapid trade expansion with APEC emerging economies, including the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) members, Latin American countries (Peru and Mexico), and partners in Central and Eastern Europe.
This growth synergized with enhanced connectivity under the Belt and Road cooperation, particularly through key infrastructure projects such as the China-Laos Railway and the China-Europe Railway Express.
Meanwhile, significant growth in land and air transport has reduced reliance on maritime shipping, strengthening trade resilience.
Furthermore, continuous improvement of supply chain connectivity has reinforced regional logistics networks, with the southern branch of the China-Europe Railway Express now reaching Vientiane of Laos, and connecting to the ASEAN rail network.
