Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday that Russia, Ukraine and the United States haven't set a date for the new round of trilateral talks, and there are no plans for the talks to be held in the U.S.
The Russian presidential spokesman added that the new-round talks would start soon, but Russia and the U.S. had never discussed plans for U.S.-hosted trilateral talks.
Peskov described the trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi as constructive and complex work.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday that he would hold meetings with members of the Ukrainian delegation on Saturday, who would report on sensitive issues that could not be discussed by phone during the trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi.
Zelensky said Thursday that the next talks with the delegations of the U.S. and Russia will be held in the near future, "likely in the United States".
The second round of U.S.-brokered talks between Russia and Ukraine concluded in Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday, with both sides failing to achieve substantive breakthroughs on core issues such as territorial arrangements and a ceasefire.
Following the talks, Russia and Ukraine conducted their first large-scale prisoner exchange in nearly five months, with each side returning 157 detainees.
