U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to impose 10 percent tariffs on imported goods from all countries, according to one of his posts on social media on Friday.

The measure will be effective almost immediately, according to Trump.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Friday morning that tariff policies under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) are unconstitutional, officially striking down the global tariffs Trump has introduced since April.

The justices ruled that the president did not have the authority under IEEPA to impose import tariffs on goods from nearly all the U.S. trading partners.

In response, Trump said on Truth Social that "we are also initiating several Section 301 (of the 1974 Trade Act) and other Investigations to protect our Country from unfair Trading practices."

"All National Security tariffs, Section 232 and existing Section 301 tariffs, remain in place, and in full force and effect," Trump said on Truth Social.
