A new series of loud explosions were heard in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday morning as Iran continues to target U.S. bases across the Gulf state in retaliatory strikes.
Notifications have gone out to some Dubai residents, telling them to seek safety immediately.
Iran's retaliatory strikes came after the United States and Israel launched what they called "major combat operations" against Iran, which led to the killing of Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei and a number of senior officials besides massive civilian casualties. Iran's retaliatory attacks have targeted Israeli and U.S. facilities across the region, with explosions reported in Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
The Ministry of Defense of the UAE said on Sunday that the country's air force and air defense forces have successfully intercepted and destroyed 137 ballistic missiles and 209 drones launched by Iran.
Also on Sunday, the ministry said the attacks have killed at least three people and injured 58 others in the UAE.
