Chinese stocks closed mixed on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.47 percent to 4,182.59 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.2 percent lower at 14,465.79 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices totaled 3.02 trillion yuan (about 436.19 billion U.S. dollars), up from 2.49 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Stocks in the oil and gas exploration and precious metals sectors led the gains, while digital marketing and computer shares were among the biggest losers.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.49 percent on Monday to close at 3,294.16 points.
The STAR Composite Index, which reflects the performance of stocks on China's sci-tech innovation board, closed 1.2 percent lower at 1,827.54 points on Monday.
