Air raid sirens, explosions rock Jerusalem as Iran launches new attacks

Air raid sirens and explosions echoed across Jerusalem early Monday morning as Iran intensified retaliatory strikes following joint U.S.-Israeli military operations, which killed Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Footage captured by a China Media Group (CMG) correspondent on the ground showed white contrails left by intercepted missile fragments streaking through the dawn sky, while distant booms from successful intercepts reverberated across the city.

According to the correspondent, the situation had remained relatively calm overnight, with a nearly seven- to eight-hour lull in missile launches from Iran toward Israel.

However, beginning around 07:00 local time, Iran launched multiple waves of attacks, triggering repeated air-raid sirens.

Meanwhile, Iran continued to target U.S. military bases across the Middle East on Monday, with explosions reported in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait.
