Jordan reiterated Saturday that it will not serve as a battleground for any parties to conflict amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Over the past week, Jordan experienced a total of 119 drone and missile attacks targeting multiple sites across the country, with 108 intercepted, the Jordanian military said at a press briefing.
The Public Security Directorate said on Saturday that emergency services, including civil defense and police, responded to over 200 incidents related to debris from intercepted missiles and drones. The incidents caused damage mainly to residential houses and vehicles, with a few reports of minor injuries among residents.
"Jordan has informed the concerned parties that it would not be a battleground for any party and its territory would not be used to launch attacks against Iran," said Mustafa Al-Hayari, director of the Military Media.
In response to the increased threats, the Jordanian military has bolstered border defenses and maintained a state of heightened alert. Analysts view these measures as a strategic effort to enhance national security while promoting stability in a region marked by ongoing conflicts.
Jordan continues to advocate de-escalation through diplomatic channels, urging all sides to avoid further spillover of violence and to prioritize dialogue to prevent a broader regional crisis.
