U.S. stocks ended lower on Friday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 119.38 points, or 0.26 percent, to 46,558.47. The Standard and Poor's 500 sank 40.43 points, or 0.61 percent, to 6,632.19. The Nasdaq Composite Index shed 206.62 points, or 0.93 percent, to 22,105.36.
Six of the 11 primary Standard and Poor's 500 sectors ended in red, with technology and materials leading the laggards by going down 1.29 percent and 1.04 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, utilities and consumer staples led the gainers by rising 0.94 percent and 0.54 percent, respectively.
U.S. stocks close lower
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday emphasized the substantial expansion of bilateral ties with China and expressed his commitment to advancing cooperation on both bilateral and international levels.
Putin made the remarks during large-group talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping while he was paying a state visit to China, during which he expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality from the Chinese side.
Noting that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation Between China and Russia, Putin expressed his commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation on this basis.
"Twenty-five years on since the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation Between China and Russia, bilateral cooperation has expanded significantly. We also hope to continue in this spirit, jointly advancing bilateral cooperation and working together on the international stage," said Putin.
