Naval and air units of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Southern Theater Command conducted readiness patrols in the territorial sea and airspace of China's Huangyan Dao and its surrounding areas on Sunday.
Huangyan Dao is an inherent part of China's territory. Since March, naval and air units of the Southern Theater Command have enhanced readiness patrols in the territorial sea and airspace of Huangyan Dao and its surrounding areas, and carried out tracking, monitoring, warning and expelling operations in accordance with laws and regulations, said the PLA Southern Theater Command.
Such patrols serve as an effective countermeasure to cope with all sorts of rights-violation and provocative acts. They are meant to resolutely safeguard China's territorial sovereignty and uphold peace and stability in the South China Sea.
PLA conducts readiness patrols around Huangyan Dao
The naval forces of Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Southern Theater Command sent a fleet of newly commissioned vessels to the South China Sea for combat-oriented training.
The warships drilled defensive maneuvers and counter-attacks against enemy assaults.
"In this training, we focused on features of new crews, new equipment and new adaptation between personnel and equipment and emphasized training on plans and contingency protocols, safety measures and emergency responses to push for the swift harmonized teamwork between personnel and equipment," said Jin Shan, an officer of the Southern Theater Command's navel vessel training center.
During the training period, the fleet also drilled navigation and maneuvering, vessel damage control, underway replenishment, three-dimensional transport and weapons firing, strengthening the organizational and command capabilities of commanders at all levels.
