PARIS, March 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Walmart de México y Centroamérica, the largest retailer in Mexico, is expanding its collaboration with Vusion, the global leader in AI-powered digitalization solutions for physical commerce, to deploy the EdgeSense connected store platform across its Walmart Express stores and begin the transformation of its Supercenter fleet.
This initiative builds on the growing global collaboration between Walmart and Vusion, following the successful deployment of Vusion's connected store technologies across Walmart US stores. The expansion reinforces Vusion's role as a strategic technology partner supporting Walmart's connected store transformation.
Under this agreement, Walmart Express stores will be fully deployed with EdgeSense technology by the end of 2026, marking the first large-scale rollout of the platform in Latin America. Following this phase, Walmart Mexico also plans to expand the deployment to Walmart Supercenters, significantly accelerating the company's digital store modernization strategy.
Across the initial deployment, Walmart Express stores will be equipped with more than 1.7 million electronic shelf labels and over 180,000 EdgeSense smart rails, creating one of the largest connected store technology deployments in Latin America.
Walmart Mexico will also begin a pilot deployment in its Bodega format, evaluating how EdgeSense technology can support additional store formats as part of the company's long-term connected store strategy.
EdgeSense is Vusion's next-generation connected store platform, combining intelligent shelf infrastructure, computer vision, artificial intelligence (AI), electronic shelf labels, and real-time retail data to create a unified operating system for physical stores. Genius Tracker™ system completes IEEE 693 high-performance level earthquake testing at UC Berkeley's PEER Lab
NORWALK, Conn., March 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- GameChange Solar, a leading global supplier of solar tracker and fixed-tilt racking technology, announced the successful completion of the industry's first full-scale seismic shake table testing program for its Genius Tracker™ system at UC Berkeley's Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research (PEER) Center. The testing was conducted in accordance with IEEE 693 seismic design standards, simulating extreme earthquake conditions representative of high-risk regions such as the New Madrid Seismic Zone. This testing represents one of the most intense credible seismic scenarios for a U.S. solar installation.
A full-scale tracker system with mounted PV modules was subjected to progressively increasing seismic inputs, including broadband excitation and high-performance-level testing up to 2.5g spectral acceleration.
The system demonstrated strong performance across multiple configurations and test intensities:
- No structural damage to key components, including torque tubes, bearings, posts, and actuators.
- Seismic design features, including GameChange's proprietary Lateral Capture System, engaged as intended and effectively redistributed loads during testing.
- No module microcracking or meaningful power loss, with degradation under 1% of the PV modules used during the testing
- Full system functionality was maintained by the tracker motor after testing.
