China's second domestically built large cruise ship, Adora Flora City, is planned to be delivered in Shanghai on November 6, nearly two months ahead of schedule, thanks to digital and intelligent technologies that have helped accelerate construction.

Chinese cruise operator Adora Cruises on Monday unveiled product listings for Adora Flora City. The vessel will offer its maiden season itineraries sailing from the Nansha International Cruise Home Port in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, with tickets to go on sale on May 20.

The first season will feature a mix of short, medium, and long-haul routes catering to both leisure and in-depth explorers. Options include five-day and six-day cruises to China's Hong Kong and Vietnam, a special overnight Hong Kong experience for China's Greater Bay Area, and a nine-day "Southeast Asian Charms" itinerary covering popular destinations such as Nha Trang in Vietnam, Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia and Muara in Brunei.

Notably, Adora Flora City will debut a 17-day "Maritime Silk Road Discovery" itinerary visiting six Southeast Asian countries which are Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam, offering guests an immersive oceanic cultural exploration.

"We have introduced a variety of new suite types designed to cater to families with children and multi-generational travel scenarios. In terms of entertainment and performances, we have also launched a performance matrix that is more suitable for all age groups. The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area boasts a developed economy, strong spending power among residents, and a growing demand for high-quality travel experiences. The inaugural season of Adora Flora City, homeported in Guangzhou, marks an important step for Adora Cruises in continuing to deepen its presence in the Greater Bay Area and optimizing its homeport layout," said Guo Jia, assistant vice president for product and customer experience at Adora Cruises.

Adora Flora City measures 341 meters in length with a gross tonnage of 141,900. It features 2,130 deluxe rooms and suites, accommodating up to 5,232 guests. As a sister ship to the Adora Magic City, China's first domestically built large cruise liner that debuted in 2023, the new flagship offers a sleeker design with an expanded central plaza.

"With coordinated efforts from all parties, key construction milestones for the second large-scale domestically built cruise ship, Adora Flora City, have all been achieved ahead of schedule. As of now, the overall project progress has reached 96 percent, with interior works 87 percent complete and commissioning works 76 percent complete. The ship is scheduled to set sail for sea trials in mid-May," said Guo.
