Shooting locations for several newly released films have become popular destinations for vacationers across China during the May Day holiday, which runs from May 1 to 5, as local authorities roll out tourism promotions tailored to their resources and attractions.

The Baili Landscape Gallery, located in Qianjiadian Town in Beijing's Yanqing District, was one of the shooting locations of "Being towards Death," a film focused on hospice care for cancer patients.

The scenic area boasts picturesque natural scenery, attracting tourists with its winding roads lined with lush greenery, layered mountain views, and grotesquely shaped rocks in the Baihe River Valley.

It also boasts "Yanshan Tianchi," known as Beijing's highest reservoir, located on the mainstream of the Baihe River.

"The scenery of mountains and rivers is really refreshing. After I watched Being towards Death, it taught me that no matter what we have experienced, we should love our lives," said Miao Ruyi, a tourist.

Aksu Prefecture in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is the main shooting location of "Wan Tongshu," a film telling a story about a researcher dedicated to preserving Muqam music of the Uygur ethnic group.

With ticket stubs for the film, visitors can enjoy themselves in 19 A-level scenic spots in Aksu with half-price tickets or free of charge, fueling local holiday tourism and boosting consumption growth in catering, accommodation, cultural and creative industries.

"The collaboration between the film and scenic area is excellent, which is convenient for us tourists. It's the first time I saw such scenery. It's so beautiful. The mountain is magnificent. And the service here is very nice. Next time I will bring my family and friends here," said Eliar Tursun, another tourist.

Iran's mission to the United Nations on Saturday described the United States as "extremely shameful" for its non-compliance with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).

"For 56 years, the U.S.-- possessor of thousands of nuclear warheads and the No. 1 proliferator of such weapons -- has been in clear non-compliance with its nuclear non-proliferation and nuclear disarmament obligations under Articles I and VI of the NPT," said the mission in a post on social media platform X.

The mission said the U.S. should not be given any cover for its outrageous and hypocritical behavior.

Legally, there is no restriction on the level of uranium enrichment, so long as it is conducted under the IAEA’s supervision, as was the case with Iran, it said.

The NPT, signed in 1968 and effective since March 5, 1970, is the only treaty that contains legally binding commitments to pursuing nuclear disarmament. A total of 191 states have joined the treaty, including the five nuclear-weapon states, making the NPT the most widely adhered to multilateral disarmament agreement.

According to the NPT, a review conference is held every five years to assess the treaty's implementation.
