U.S. stocks ended higher on Monday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 95.31 points, or 0.19 percent, to 49,704.47. The Standard and Poor's 500 added 13.91 points, or 0.19 percent, to 7,412.84. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 27.05 points, or 0.10 percent, to 26,274.13.
Six of the 11 primary Standard and Poor's 500 sectors ended in green, with energy and materials leading the gainers by going up 2.63 percent and 1.43 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, communication services and consumer staples led the laggards by dropping 2.33 percent and 0.76 percent, respectively.
