Jensen Huang, the founder and CEO of U.S. tech giant Nvidia, has expressed his hope that Thursday's meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump can build on and improve ties between the U.S. and China.
Huang is one of a number of top U.S. entrepreneurs accompanying President Trump during his state visit to China from Wednesday to Friday.
As the two presidents held talks on Thursday morning, Huang was one of several tech bosses including Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Apple's Tim Cook who were seen entering the Great of the Hall of the People in central Beijing.
In an interview with the China Media Group (CMG) as he walked through the venue, Huang hailed the relationship between Xi and Trump as "wonderful" and said he hopes the visit would enable the two sides to further strengthen bilateral ties based on it.
"I'm hoping it's going to be a very successful meeting. President Trump and President Xi have a wonderful relationship and we have great hopes that we will build upon that great relationship and improve the relationship of our two nations," said Huang.
The current visit is the first by a U.S. president to China in almost nine years, after President Xi previously hosted Trump in Beijing back in November 2017.
