The death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 72,763 since the conflict between Hamas and Israel erupted on October 7, 2023, with the number of injuries reaching 172,664, Gaza's health authorities said on Sunday.

Health authorities in Gaza said in a statement that hospitals across the enclave had received six bodies and 19 injured people over the previous 24 hours as of Sunday.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Sunday that IDF troops identified "terrorists" in central and southern Gaza who were posing "imminent threats to IDF soldiers".

The attacks came amid intensified Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip over the past several days.

The Lebanese death toll from Israeli strikes has risen to 2,988 since March 2, Lebanon's Public Health Emergency Operations Center said on Sunday, as Israeli strikes intensified across southern Lebanon.

Another 9,210 people have been wounded since March 2, according to the center.

In southern Lebanon, three people, including a child, were killed and eight others wounded -- among them three children -- in an Israeli strike on the town of Tayr Felsay. In a separate strike on the village of Tayr Debba, two people were killed and three others wounded, the center added.

Repeated explosions rocked the border town of Khiam. Israeli warplanes also carried out two strikes on the town of Sohmor in eastern Lebanon, while Israeli reconnaissance drones were reported flying at low altitude over Beirut and its suburbs.

Hezbollah said in separate statements that it launched a suicide drone attack on an Israeli military vehicle and struck a gathering of Israeli soldiers in the town of Bayada.
