China's national rejuvenation and the United States' "Make America Great Again" vision can advance together through cooperation rather than confrontation, former Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. Cui Tiankai said in Beijing on Sunday.

In an exclusive interview with China Global Television Network (CGTN), Cui, who served for the longest term as Chinese ambassador to the U.S., emphasized that the world's top two economies do not need to view each other's development as a threat. Instead, he said, mutual recognition of each nation's legitimate development aspirations could unlock new opportunities for global stability and prosperity.

"Maybe all countries at different times would be at a critical juncture of its own development. For China, we are moving forward to a second centenary goal. And for America, as you said, they want to make America great again. Well it's good we have our own national goals to achieve. But if the two countries can really work together, can see each other's success as a great opportunity, then each would be better able to achieve its own goals," said Cui.

Cui noted that framing the bilateral relationship through a lens of mutual benefit, rather than zero-sum rivalry, could help both nations navigate complex global challenges.

"We never believe in zero-sum mentality. We never believe that any country's success should be at the expense of any other countries. So hopefully China, the United States could set a good example to the world -- the two great countries, the two biggest economies, the two permanent members of the UN Security Council, despite all the differences between us, we can still work together, and we can still support each other in the achievement of its own national goals. And together we'll do a much better job, not only for ourselves, but make the world better for everyone," he said.

Beyond high-level diplomacy, Cui highlighted the critical role of grassroots connections in sustaining long-term bilateral relations.

"If we want to move the relations forward on the track of constructive strategic stability, these areas, what we do in these areas, could be the so-called propellers to push it forward. So we really have to do, to make new progress in all these areas. Maybe particularly in people-to-people exchange, especially between the younger generation because they are the future. And the future of China-U.S. relations will certainly depends on their vision and their efforts," he said.

China's BeiDou space-time industry boomed in 2025 with a total output value of 1.3323 trillion yuan (about 186.5 billion U.S. dollars), according to a white paper on its development released on Monday.

The white paper on China's BeiDou Space-time Industry Development in 2026 released by the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and Location Based Services (LBS) Association of China (GLAC) said that the satellite navigation industry, serving as the foundation of the BeiDou space-time sector, achieved a total output value of 629 billion yuan in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 9.24 percent, demonstrating strong resilience and significant growth potential.

The BeiDou time-space industry is a comprehensive industrial system centered on the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System. It deeply integrates various technological approaches, including remote sensing, geographic information systems, mobile communications, and indoor positioning.

"The most distinctive hallmark of the BeiDou time-space industry in 2025 is its leap from satellite navigation to time-space services, demonstrating a development momentum featuring convergence of technologies, scenario-based applications, and diversified ecosystem. The industry's iterative upgrading continued to pace up, and its core competitiveness improved constantly," said Zhang Huifeng, president of the GLAC.

China has established a complete and autonomous BeiDou time-space industrial and supply chain, spanning from chips, modules, antennas, terminals to system integration and application services, with continuously improving levels of self-reliance and control.

Notably, cumulative shipments of BeiDou-compatible chips and modules have reached the scale of hundreds of millions, effectively safeguarding the secure and robust development of the industrial and supply chain.

The latest data showed that the domestic sales of BeiDou terminal products exceeded 410 million sets in 2025. Additionally, the total social stock of various terminal products equipped with BeiDou functionality has surpassed 2.2 billion sets.

"The digital transformation and intelligent upgrade across industries are comprehensively accelerating. This has led to a surge in demand for high-precision, high-reliability, real-time intelligent time-space information, products, and services, providing vast market opportunities for the development of the BeiDou time-space industry. The industrial value chain is shifting from product delivery to data operation with time-space data becoming a core factor of production, demonstrating immense developmental potential of the industry," Zhang said.
