President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday that he looks forward to strengthening ironclad friendship with China during his state visit from May 24 to 28.

Meeting Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Ming in Belgrade, the president hailed the upcoming visit as the most significant one of his political career, adding that he looks forward to taking this visit as an opportunity to strengthen the ironclad friendship between the two countries, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, and advance the building of a China-Serbia community with a shared future in the new era, thereby bringing tangible benefits to the people of both nations.

Vucic said he sincerely looked forward to meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping again and expressed his deep gratitude for Xi's steadfast support and sincere friendship toward Serbia and its people, adding that it is not only a lasting testament to the ironclad friendship between Serbia and China, but also serves as a vivid embodiment of the high level of political mutual trust between the two countries.

He reiterated that bilateral cooperation and coordination are a testament to the sincere friendship between the two countries, giving examples such as infrastructure and industrial projects, and the two countries' mutual political understanding and support at critical junctures.

This friendship has been forged over time and has grown even stronger in the face of major global challenges, Vucic added.

He spoke highly of China's development achievements, saying that China is not only a benchmark for steady global economic growth but also a model of adherence to international principles.

Through its consistent and serious position, wise policies, and outstanding international reputation, China has made a significant contribution to maintaining world peace, stability, and cooperation, he said, stressing that these qualities are particularly valuable in the current era of increasing uncertainty.
